Konstantinos crashed on the warm-up lap which dislodged his spoiler before the start. Nevertheless he managed to reach the back of the pack instead of starting 6th. The first lap was very restless, Kakunoshin Ota led ahead of Illya Zamula, Berkay Besler, Murilo Della Coletta – who had to return to the pits – Rinus Van Kalmthout and Richard Verschoor. Both Dutch drivers went on the attack and captured 2nd and 3rd places ahead of Besler. Then Xavier Brunet Lloveras took 4th position. Konstantinos quickly gained ground and entered the top 15 on the 4th lap. There was also a big gain for Alessandro Brigatti who had already regained 20 places since starting 27th.

At the halfway point, Van Kalmthout was just three tenths off the leader Ota. The attack took place on lap 8, Verschoor, the fastest on the track, took the opportunity to close right up to Ota, now second. A three-way battle started ahead of Besler and Lloveras Brunet. Verschoor escaped in the lead for two laps, but the Japanese hadn’t said his last word. He managed to win in front of Van Kalmthout and Verschoor, and 4th and 5th were Besler and Lloveras Brunet. The strongest recovery was from the French Alexandre Vromant who came from 34th to 8th place, just ahead of Konstantinos.
