Usually taking part international competitions, the British team Forza Racing fielded Remigio Garofano and Aldo Festante last weekend in the second round in the Italian Championship at Sarno. With several top drivers from the KF-Junior category, here called KF3, the Forza drivers showed an extremely tough level of performance throughout the meeting. Some race incidents disrupted their victorious march, but their overall performance was far from unnoticed!
Garofano opened the hostilities with pole position and victory in the first heat, with the fastest lap. Starting with the third fastest time, Festante took 2nd places in all the heats. Not able to avoid a crash in his second heat, Garofano started 15th in final 1, which did not prevent him from coming back to third with a new fastest time. Festante got caught up on the first lap, but managed to climb from 26th to 15th place.
Due to the reverse grid for the top eight, Garofano started 6th in race 2, but serious brake problems deprived him of his expected race lead. He was 4th on the finish line, and in 2nd position in the championship standings. Festante again recovered with authority, setting the second fastest time of the race to finish in 6th place.
Always very competitive, the Tony Karts from Forza Racing have not yet had the opportunity to demonstrate the quality of their team work in international races this season. Facing a significant field with a good half of the drivers competing in the WSK and CIK, the results at Sarno give a good confirmation of the potential of Jamie Croxford and Dean Panrucker’s British team.
