Nielsen on top in the KF Prefinal

The two formation laps of the KF Prefinal proceeded smoothly. Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) found themselves in trouble at the first corner. Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex) also dropped, followed by Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) and Maxime Potty (Kosmic / Parilla). Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) took the lead ahead of Hannes Janker (Zanardi / Parilla), Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex), Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and Linus Lundqvist. Nielsen took the lead on the fourth lap. Dropping to 5th behind Lundqvist, Norris set several fastest laps. Nielsen and Ilott escaped ahead of Lundqvist, Norris and Janker, with the pack 4” behind.

Norris took back 3rd at halfway with a 1” gap to Ilott ahead of him. Nicolas Gonzales (Kosmic / Parilla) passed Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / TM) to gain 15th place, Kari returned to 17th, Julien Darras (ART GP / TM) advanced to 22nd ahead of Lorandi and Aubry. Felice Tiene (CRG / Parilla) moved up to 8th position, after starting 19th, just behind Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) in 7th and Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla) 6th. Two laps from the end, Lando Norris was back in Ilott’s wheeltracks, himself close to Nielsen. Norris attacked Ilott who immediately repassed. Victory went to Nielsen ahead of Ilott and Norris, the fastest, Lundqvist 4th, Janker 5th, Joyner 6th, Mazepin 7th, Tiene 8th.
