Jonathan Thonon (Praga / Parilla) started impeccably at the lights in the KZ2 final against Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex), but the Italian attacked the Belgian on the second lap to take control. Davide Fore (CRG / TM) moved up to third from Mirko Torsellini (ART GP / TM), Arnaud Kozlinski (Intrepid / TM) was very much a part of it as well as Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex). Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM) and Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE) were no longer in the race, and Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla) started a difficult climb from the back of the grid.
Ardigo and Thonon were wheel to wheel at the front with Fore on his own in 3rd position and Torsellini leading the chasing pack ahead of Camponeschi and Kozlinski before losing two places at once on lap 6. At the halfway point, the situation had not changed, except for the widening gap. Ardigo gradually pulled away from Thonon, and 3rd Fore raced alone, away from Camponeschi in 4th and Kozlinski 5th, always marked by Torsellini. Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) and Andreas Hansen (Tony Kart / Vortex) competed for 7th position. Starting a long way back Rick Dreezen (Zanardi / Parilla) made a good effort to get back into the top 10.
With five laps to go, Thonon used everything he had to try to get back with the leader Ardigo, but it seemed impossible. Kozlinski closed on Camponeschi, Midrla and Hansen who passed Torsellini on lap 17. Ardigo won the race and the championship, Thonon was on the second step of the podium and Fore the 3rd. Camponeschi finished 4th, Kozlinski 5th and Hansen 6th with the fastest lap.
