WSK La Conca: Ilott takes pole in KF after a struggle

Felice Tiene (CRG / TM), Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) and Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) played the leading roles in group 1 in KF at La Conca for the 3rd round of the WSK Super Master Series of 2014. The weather was cloudy, but completely dry with an air temperature of twenty degrees and ten more on the track. Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex) joined the fight in third position, Julien Fong (Tony Kart / TM) appeared in 5th at the end, soon replaced by Xia Yifan (Tony Kart / TM). Hanley gained the edge slightly over Nielsen, Xia took third ahead of Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) before taking the second fastest time behind Hanley – 46” 467 – on the last lap. Nielsen was 3rd, Xia 4th and Aubry 5th.

In the second group, Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM) gradually gained power in front of Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla), while Kevin Rossel (Tony Kart / TM) was experiencing trouble. Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart/Parilla) joined the trio, as well as Leonardo Pulcini (Energy / TM). Ilott regularly improved until the end of the session and ended up with a 46” 449 lap, Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla) rose to second, but 3/10 off pole. Hannes Janker (Zanardi / Parilla) took third position ahead if Pulcini and Sitnikov.
