The first lap was a killer in the KF final at Castelletto as Lorandi, Norris, Ilott, Mazepin … dropped in the standings in various skirmishes. Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) took the lead, followed by Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex), Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex), Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex), Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla) and Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex). Basz dislodged Kari and Aubry to take 2nd and 3rd positions. Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart / TM) was close behind Nielsen in seventh position, ahead of Xia Yifan (Tony Kart / TM), Kevin Rossel (Tony Kart / TM) and Diego Bertonelli (Praga / Parilla). Julien Darras (Energy / TM) was 12th and Felice Tiene (CRG / TM) 13th, already regaining nine places.

Aubry passed his teammate Basz on lap 5, in second here behind a very fast Daruvala. Lando Norris and Lorandi were regaining lost ground, 19th and 20th before halfway. Aubry increased pace but importantly, so did the leader and set several fastest laps. The positions changed little at the front, except for Tiene moving in to the top 10. The gaps suggest the situation with 6 laps to go would be that at the finish. Daruvala controlled the situation and Aubry was over 2” ahead of his teammate. Daruvala won ahead of Aubry and Basz, Joyner finished 4th, Nielsen 5tg, Maestranzi 6th, and Tiene 7th.
