KF: Basz parades ahead of Mazepin in Prefinal B

The rain had almost stopped, the sun even reappeared between the clouds for prefinal B in KF, which were thin but they were still on rain tyres. Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead on the first lap ahead of Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex), Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla), Karol Dabski (Praga / Parilla) and Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / Parilla) . Moritz Horn (Energy / TM and Julien Fong (Tony Kart / TM) were the victims of the first lap. Egor Stupenkov (Energy / TM) took 5th with Kevin Rossel (Tony Kart / TM) in his wake, Sitnikov dropped to 10th. Basz pulled out a gap of 2” from Mazepin and almost 6″ ahead of Van Leeuwen. Rossel attacked Dabski for 4th place before halfway and Diego Bertonelli (Praga / Parilla) moved up from 20th to 6th position, followed by Tuomas Tujula (ART GP / TM).

The Finn was very fast, first he passed Bertonelli then Dabski before closing in on Rossel. He overtook him too lap 8 and set a new fastest lap. Stefano Cucco (Birel / TM) made a big recovery from 22nd to 10th, ahead of Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex). Tujula was right behind Van Leeuwen on the lap, but did not pass. Victory and fastest lap went to Basz ahead of Mazepin then Van Leeuwen 3rd, Tujula 4th, Bertonelli 5th and Rossel 6th.
