Camponeschi and Ardigo top qualifying in KZ2 at Sarno

There was a lot of strategy in Qualifying for the WSK Master Series Super at Sarno in the KZ2 category, starting with a fairly long wait, then everyone starting at once with everyone trying to get in the best position to set their time. In the first session, Andrea Dale (CRG / Maxter) opened the scoring with Rick Dreezen (Zanardi / Parilla), Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter). Ardigo took the advantage with Riccardo Negro (Top Kart / TM) in 4th ahead of Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex), and Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla) remained behind, then Dreezen was back before the end of the session. Camponeschi seized his chance in the final seconds and dropped below 1’05”. He kept the fastest time, 1’04” 937, ahead of his teammate Ardigo and Dale, Dreezen 4th, Negro 5th and Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE) 6th.

Andrea Hansen (Tony Kart / Vortex) dropped under 1’07” in the second group of KZ2, followed by Menno Paauwe (Birel / TM), but Kozlinski (Intrepid / TM) then took the early lead ahead of Hansen and Douglas Lundberg (Alpha Karting / TM). Koko improved and Lundberg followed, Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM) came up with the 3rd fastest time. Then Fabian Federer (CRG / Maxter) and Davide Fore (CRG / TM) mixed in the fight with Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) 4th. In the final moments, Jonathan Thonon (Praga / Parilla) moved into the top 3, Kozlinski improved one last time, taking the best performance in this group, 1’05” 196, despite the efforts of De Conto, who finished 0.112” behind. Hanley was third, Patrik Hajek (Praga / Parilla) 4th, Ciro Mollo (Rosso Corsa) 5th and Fore 6th.

Pole stayed Camponeschi’s ahead of Ardigo and Dale. Kozlinski was 4th overall with his final high speed lap, Dreezen was fifth, Negro sixth, De Conto 7th and Iglesias 8th.
