Devlin DeFrancesco was full of determination wgen he began his 2014 European campaign at the first round of the WSK Champions Cup at the international La Conca circuit. Out of karting for 4 months due to a wrist injury, Devlin’s motivation, as well as his self-confidence, were visible at each stage of the Italian competition. Even when he found himself in trouble at a crucial moment, at the start of prefinal A on a suddenly slippery track, the young American was not unsettled and was able to make up lost time with rare skill. From 26th on the first lap, he gained more than 20 places in just 11 laps to finish fourth, with of course, the fastest lap. A feat that speaks volumes about his new potential.
His arrival at the Morsicani Racing Team has immediately gone well. Driving his Tony Kart / Vortex, Devlin initially set the fastest time in qualifying in his group, which has earned him second place overall out of the 66 drivers competing in KF-Junior, 85 thousandths from pole. Except in the heat B against D in the rain where he finished 14th after a tumultuous start, Devlin continued his offensive with two wins and a second place to his credit. In the final, he again picked up 4 places to finish in 6th position.
This very exciting showing for Devlin at La Conca foretells great results for the young American driver in his second season in KF-Junior.
