Lonato: Ahmed ahead of Travisanutto in the KFJ prefinal

Daniel Ticktum (Zanardi / Parilla) and Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) were on the front row of the KF-Junior Prefinal at the Winter Cup at Lonato in 2014. There was beautiful weather, blue skies and sunshine, a temperature of around 10 degrees, so no problem in that direction. As often happens, the outside lane was quicker to start, with Ticktum leading from Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex), Fewtrell and Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex). Ahmed took control from the 2nd lap with Fewtrell following him, and Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM) fell to 12th position. Lorenzo Travisanutto (PCR / Parilla) had already gained four places to 5th. David Beckmann (FA Kart / Vortex) was recovering after an average start.

The drivers from RFM at the front drew slightly apart, and Vartanyan attacked Ticktum on lap 7. Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic / Parilla) closed on the top 10 on the heels of Lorandi. It was Travisanutto’s turn to pass Ticktum at halfway. Beckmann had his head down to reduce the second and a half gap behind Ticktum. The top group of five was very compact, while Tommaso Mosca and Jannes Fiitje passed Beckman. Vartanayan attacked Fewtrell on the 14th of 20 laps to gain 2nd place and Ticktum hit the gas. Travisanutto took 3rd, Ticktum 4th. The final battle is brewing.

Vartanyan was back with Travisanutto who lost a few meters compared to Ahmed, Ticktum put pressure on both drivers and Fewtrell awaited an opportunity. On the last lap, Ticktum attacked Vartanyan, Fewtrell tried to take advantage of it, but in vain.

Ahmed won ahead of Travisanutto, Ticktum was 3rd, Vartanyan 4th, Fewtrell 5th.
