Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex) took the lead in KFJ Prefinal 1 from the lights, with Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) and Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) on his heels. Daruvala attacked on the second lap to grab the lead. Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) was not far off in fourth position ahead of Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart / TM) and Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla). Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex) had problems after the first corner in getting on the right line and he plunged to 22nd. Ahmed made an unsuccessful attack which dropped him back for a few laps, but that didn’t not stop him from taking control on the sixth lap, then followed by Shwartzman and Ticktum, and Mazepin from 6th behind Lorandi. Ahmed and Shwartzman distanced themselves and Mazepin was isolated in 3rd position. Shwartzman took the lead on lap 7. Aubry dropped to 27th due to a puncture.
Shwartzman won by almost 5/10 ahead of Ahmed with Mazepin 3rd, Lorandi 4th, Ticktum 5th, Daruvala 6th, Lessennes 7th, Johnsen 8th, Raucci 9th and Beckmann 10th with the fastest lap.
