Victory for polesitter Boccolacci
Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM) kept the lead with apparent ease in the first qualifying heat of the KF World Championship in Bahrain. Mäntylä was pushing the leader who got a gap at approaching the halfway point when Nielsen returned to second. Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) dropped to the back of the track. Nielsen closed on Boccolacci while Verstappen led the chasing pack in 5th position over a second from 4th. Mäntylä finished 3rd, Corberi 4th, Verstappen 5th, Basz 6th, Russo 7th, Tiene 8th, Joyner 9th with the fastest time, and Besancenez 10th with the second best time.
Verstappen returns
Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM) had a good start in the second heat, this time followed by Andreas Hansen (Tony Kart / Vortex), but Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) had already moved up to the third a second ahead of Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) and Luca Corberi (Kosmic / Vortex). Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / TM), was fastest and attacked Nielsen for 5th place, then Corberi for 4th. Verstappen received a warning flag for non-compliance with the limits of the track. But the Dutch driver approached Hansen in second position. Besancenez seized fourth position ahead of Corberi. Hansen took the lead from Boccolacci on the 8th of 11 laps, then Verstappen took 2nd place before attacking Hansen. Boccolacci took 2nd position, followed by Nielsen. The French driver threatened Verstappen on the last lap, but Verstappen won by 83 thousandths. Nielsen finished 3rd, Hansen 4th, Besancenez 5th and Corberi 6th.
