Last KFJ heats in Bahrain

Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex) quickly took control of the KFJ qualifying heat A against C, then Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) beat Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) for 2nd place, followed by Niko Kari (FA Kart / Vortex) in 4th and Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart / Vortex) 5th. Ahmed has gradually dropped them to secure the victory with a good lead of 1.5” against Norris who took over second position on the penultimate lap. Kari had the fastest time and was warned by a black and white flag, then finished third ahead of Lorandi and Pulcini.

Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) got a good start in the heat B against E and Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) took Danilo Albanese (Kosmic / Vortex) for second place. Lorandi dropped to 4th on the second lap, Daruvala took the lead ahead of Thomas Bale (FA Kart / Vortex), and Jules Bollier (Tony Kart / Parilla) took 4th from Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart / TM), Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic / Vortex) and Bryan Elpitiya (Energy / TM). Bollier launched a beautiful attack on Albanese to gain 3rd place at halfway. Bale took the lead on lap 5. Then Shwartzman took 3rd ahead of Bollier and Elpitiya. Daruvala made a good pass up the inside of Bale on the last lap. Philip Hall (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished sixth ahead of Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex).

Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex) led on lap 1 in the heat D against A followed by Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) and Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla). But Ticktum was very incisive and regained the lead on the next lap with Lorandi 2nd and Ahmed 3rd. Ralf Aron (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 4th ahead of Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) who lost places. Lorandi put pressure on Ticktum at half distance. The Brazilian Giuliano Raucci (Energy / TM) lost 14 positions to 22nd place. In 6th position, Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex) set the fastest time. Lorandi attacked Ticktum with two laps to go, but the top three were very close on the last lap. Rewarded with a warning flag, Lorandi won the race 7/10 in front of Ticktum and Ahmed. Aron remained 4th, Vartanyan 5th, and Mazepin 6th.

Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) challenged the leader Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex), with Niko Kari (FA Kart / Vortex) third, Petru Florecu (Tony Kart / Vortex) 4th, Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart / TM) 5th and Danilo Albanese (Kosmic / Vortex) 6th. Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex) was back in 7th. Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart / Vortex) lost a lot of places at the start, as did Bryan Elpitiya (Energy / TM). Lorandi lost ground after half distance and Kari went second, Shwartzman was 3rd and Florescu 4th. Victory went to Norris, Kari 2nd, Shwartzman 3rd, Florescu 4th, Albanese 5th, Lorandi 6th and Aubry 7th.
