Jules Bollier (Kosmic / Parilla) and Maxime Potty (Kosmic / Parilla) opened the scoring in timed qualifying for the KFJ World Championship in Bahrain as night fell at a good time. It was not until 2′ before the end of session 1 that the times dropped with Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) and Thomas Bale (FA Kart / Vortex). Daruvala kept improving, but Leonardo Lorandi managed a superb last lap and took pole in Group 1 with a time of 53” 634, 1 tenth faster than the rest. Danilo Albanese (Kosmic / Vortex) finished third, Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) 4th, Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart / Vortex) 5th. Bollier managed to stay in the top 10 ahead of Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex), James Pull (Tony Kart / Vortex), David Beckmann (Zanardi / Parilla) 13th and Bryan Elpitiya (Energy / TM) 14th.

Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) took control of the second group, ahead of Matteo Raspatelli (Kosmic / Parilla). Giuliano Raucci (Energy / TM) improved and then came Petru Florescu (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla). But Norris reacted then Robert Shwartzman took the lead, soon to be replaced by Lorandi, Norris again then Lorandi and finally Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex) who’s last lap had a great time of 53” 556, pole position in the category, and 0.156″ faster than Norris, in 2nd. Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 3rd position at the last moment ahead of Lorandi, Niko Kari (Kosmic / Vortex) 5th, and Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic / Vortex) 6th.

Pole therefore went to Enaam Ahmed ahead of Leonardo Lorandi, Lando Norris and Nikita Mazepin. Daruvala came in 5th position, Alessio Lorandi 6th, Albanese 7th, Kari 8th, Ticktum 9th and Lessennes 10th.

Eight drivers saw some of their times canceled for crossing the track lines at some corners.
