Carlos Gil takes pole in Senior at Nola

In Senior Rotax the Sodi karts took to the track after Juniors for the qualifying, with the odd drivers to start. Alberto Gil (ESP) was one of the fastest, moving rapidly into 56” in front of Musahi Nakanishi (JPN). Harry Webb (GBR) was at the moment close to the top 5. Kyle Fowlie (GBR) was in the second position, but Carlos Gil (ESP) was ahead of his brother in the lead, then Oliver Hodgson (USA) took second. The positions were frozen for amoment near the end, but Fowlie managed to pass Albert Gil and Aavo Talvar took second on the last lap. Carlos Gil kept the lead with 55”199, 2 thousandths from Tavlar and Hodgson in 3rd by 5 thousandth, Sam Beasley (USA) by 3/100 in fourth and Fowlie fifth by 4.7 hundredths.

The even drivers went out on the track in the wake of Charlie Eastwwod (IRL) with 8 minutes of the board then Olivier Bedard (CAN) took the lead provisionally ahead of Krishnara Mahadik (IND) and Vid Pasjd (SLO). Jules Cousin (FRA) showed his potential with fourth, but was soon replaced by Edward Brand (GBR). Pozzoli Xavier (FRA), with a refreshed machine, entered the top 7. Eastwood took control, Oliver Askew (USA) replaced him then Bezel Petr (CZE). The lead changes were constant. Brand, Zachary Claman Demelo (CAN), and Max Aitken (GBR) were the top 3, then again Eastwood was in the lead, chased by Daniel Rochford (AUS) when suddenly the red flag was waved 1 minute from the end as a result of an accident. Rochford retained the best time of 55” 430 from Eastwood, Aitken, Brand and Claman Demelo.

The Senior pole went to Carlos Gil ahead of Aavo Talvar then Oliver Hodgson 3rd, Sam Beasley 4th, Kyle Fowlie fifth, Albert Gil sixth, Philipp Morin (SWE) seventh. Rochford was eighth ahead of Martin Henckel Mortensen (DEN) and Sam Schippers (BEL).
