Nicolas Duchateau (Alpha) and David Chenillot (FA Kart) were on the front row and were now well established for the X30 Master Prefinal in the rain. Kip Foster was in trouble on the formation lap. Duchateau took the lead with Chenillot second, and the hierarchy stayed the same, but Duchateau was widening the gap. Julien Degoutte (CRG) went third, Pascal Bielatowicz (Exceed) fourth, Thierry Raccamier (Kosmic) 5th from the American James Russell (Parolin). It was a great start to the race for Frederic Blin (Kosmic), already ninth with 15 places gained.

The top three were about 9/10 from each other, although well ahead of fourth, which was Bielatowicz by nearly 4″. With Raccamier in his wake. Blin attacked Russell and then in the same corner Raccamier for 5th place, then took 4th from Raccamier on the following lap. Duchateau was 2” ahead of Chenillot who was being tailgated by Degoutte. Blin closed on Degoutte by 5/6 tenths per lap, but the difference was probably too large for him to get on the podium.

Duchateau won the race he dominated from the start ahead of Chenillot and Degoutte. Incredible fourth place went to Blin ahead of Raccamier, Bervoets, Bielatowicz and Russell.
