After a long silent break that almost made you forget that we are at a World Championship meeting, the 26 KF drivers took to the track, all at the same time for their single qualifying session. Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex) gave the starting signal 7′ from the end of the session, and the last set off 2′ later in the wake of Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM). Basz set a time of 1’05” 716 ahead of Ollie Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and Martin Kodric (FA Kart / Vortex). Paolo Besancenez (Kosmic / TM) climbed into third position before the final rush. Drivers tried to regroup for the final lap to make the most of the slipstream. Lance Stroll (Zanardi / TM) took the lead with a time of 1’05” 508. Basz reacted and won pole by 6 thousandths. Besancenez remained an excellent 3rd place, eight hundredths behind Stroll. Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla) finished fourth from Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) Boccolacci 6th, Julien Fong Wei Jie (Kosmic / TM) 7th, Norris 8th, Kodric 9th and Matteo Vigano (Top Kart / Parilla) 10th.
