Varennes KZ2 Bray ahead of Midrla in Prefinal 2

Daniel Bray (GP / TM) got the better of Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) in the second prefinal for KZ2, after good tussle on the first lap. Yan Pesce (Energy / Parilla) was third ahead of Simas Juodvirsis (Energy / TM) and Joel Johansson (Energy / TM). Alexandre Arrue (Praga / Parilla) made a good start, and was sixth. Yohann Cresson (Tony Kart / Vortex), Douglas Lundberg (LH / TM), Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Ben Barnicoat (ART GP / TM) were in an accident.

Pesce attacked Juodvirsis, but the differences were small between the top six. After the fifth lap, the leading duo upped the pace. Pesce was very strong at the entrance to the parabolic. Kritijan Habulin (CRG / Modena) made a big recovery to sixth position, Loris Spinelli (CRG / TM) moved up to 8th, Thierry Lolmède (RK / TM) climbed from 25th to 12th place ahead of Julien Goupy (Praga / TM). In front Bray still contained Midrla, Johansson and Arrue got the better of Juodvirsis, Arrue then grabbed 3rd place.

Midrla was very threatening to Bray on to the approach to the finish, he seemed ready to try his luck. Bray closed the doors on the last lap and won the race ahead of Midrla, Arrue third, Johansson fourth, Habulin fifth, Spinelli sixth. Lolmède ranked 11th ahead of Goupy, Xen De Ruwe (CRG / Maxter) in 14th with the fastest lap. Marijn Kremers (Birel / TM) didn’t qualify.
