Artem Petrov was excluded from Race 1 for being underweight, he started race 2 last, while Mike Beckhusen was given a 10” penalty for a bad move and was 14th instead of 9th. The front row line was Pedro Piquet and Maxime Potty with Ralf Aron and Andrei Vajda behind. A little wind was freshening the air at the overheated Ortona track under a slightly cloudy sky.

Piquet made the best start since the faster outside line was still fastest. Potty was only in fourth position, preceded by Vajda and Presley Martono. Adeline Prudent made a mistake, under pressure from another competitor and found herself almost last ahead of Gautier Becq. Potty quickly started chasing, he was already second on lap three, but the place was hotly coveted by Vajda that retaliated. Potty returned on lap 5 while Sindre Johnsen passed for third. Berklay Besler was back near the chasing pack in sixth position before swapping places with Johnsen.

Prudent got things working and started to overtake competitors. In front Piquet had an impressive lead over the pack by nearly 2”. Petrov was unleashed to recover his disadvantage, he approached the top 10 after overtaking Nathan Hédouin. It was then the turn of Becq to start overtaking at last. Potty was the fastest on the track, he was moving forwards but the gap was too large for the remaining distance. Edoardo Tolfo spun on the line with a lap to go.

It was the second win of the day for Piquet ahead of Potty who came back strongly and set a very fast lap time on the limit. Besler finished third ahead of Johnsen and Melgar. Hédouin was ninth in an interesting position, Prudent was up to 14th and Becq 17th. Aron retired.
