Chaimongkol wins KFJ Prefinal 1

The heat and sunshine remain on the Alcaniz region on Sunday morning when the first pre-final took to the track. The first prefinal for KFJ saw Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and David Beckmann (Zabardi / BMB) headlining. But Sasakorn Chaimongkol (Kosmic / TM) soon closed on Norris to take the lead after a good fight. Penalized 10”, Beckmann was low in the classification and qualification escaped him. Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM) battled in third and second positions, but then lost ground against Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / TM) who finished second ahead of Norris, Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) and Aubry in fifth. The fastest lap was by Niko Kari (FA Kart / Vortex), finishing sixth ahead of Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic / Vortex), Tom Bale (FA Kart / Vortex), Sophia Floersch (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex ).
