Riccardo Negro (DR / TM) showed his great form by winning both heats in KZ2 this Sunday, while Marco Zanchetta (Maranello / TM) was trying to make up lost time unsuccessfully as he settled on the third row for final two. Negro didn’t miss his start, with Emil Antonsen (DR / TM) behind him, while Zanchetta plunged to 10th place. Joel Johansson (Energy / TM) disrupted the DR drivers, first overtaking Antonsen and then Negro at halfway. Meanwhile, Zanchetta came back to 5th, about one second behind Negro, in second, always in the wheeltracks of Johansson.

On lap 12, Zanchetta took 4th from Jan Midrla (Birel / TM), who was about 5/10 from Negro with an advantage of about 1 tenth a lap and with five laps to go … Incredibly on the 15th lap Antonsen passed his teammate Negro, causing him to run a big risk for the title as he found himself within reach of Zanchetta. Negro would then need to defend himself against a faster opponent, and he succeeded perfectly by finishing third and 0.331” ahead of Zanchetta. The title was won by Riccardo Negro, but don’t forget the winner Joel Johansson, Emil Antonsen or Marco Zanchetta who was full of panache.
