De Brabander the surprise leader in KZ1 qualifying

Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) was long at the forefront of the qualifying session for KZ1, but Yannick De Brabander (Maranello / TM) waited for the last moment to give set his time and take pole with 51” 933 . In third, Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) dominated Max Verstappen (CRG / TM), while Rick Dreezn (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished fifth, less than a tenth off his compatriot on pole. Led by Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Parilla), the following seven drivers were grouped within two tenths behind the leader.
