The qualifying heats of the German round of the European KZ2 Championship have been completed on Saturday in bright sunshine. Although it is not raining for now, a lot of time penalties have showered down. Friday saw showers and noise sanctions (22 in six heats against 14 for jumped starts), while the weather changed on Saturday to be dry but still  noise sanctions and some for jumped starts, not to mention the necessary sanctions for  bad maneuvers.

Italians are on pole position in the two pre-finals on Sunday, Marco Zanchetta (Maranello / TM) with a very good score (five wins and a second place) which allows him to surpass his rival Riccardo Negro ( DR / TM) on 4 wins, tied with the Dutch driver Ricardo Romkema (Zanardi / TM). Norway’s Emil Antonsen (DR / TM) has scored a great breakthrough result in 4th place ahead of the Swedish Douglas Lundberg (Maranello / TM) who would have been behind Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) without an exclusion for non-compliance his reed in the last race which put him down to 20th position.

In addition to his status as the leading French driver, Clement Da Silva (Birel / TM) retains a great opportunity to do well with his 14th place, while Charles Fiault (Sodi / Parilla) is 54th after a hand injury and a trip to hospital. These two are the only survivors of the hectic races. The racing will begin tomorrow with two separate pre-finals, where drivers will have to be 17th at worst to get in to the final.
