Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) dominated the first Prefinal in KFJ at Zuera finishing more than 1.7s from his teammate Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex), who was threatening early in the race. Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) finally recovered to third from Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex), while Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla) went from 3rd to 5th place and Guillermo Russo (FA Kart / Vortex) fell on him in sixth. There was a beautiful 7th position for Max Defourny (Kosmic / Vortex) who is now more effective. Moving up to 10th position, Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM) finally qualified in 12th position having gained more than 10 places. Abused early in the race, Thomas Bale (FA Kart / Vortex) set the fastest lap and finished 14th, while Matteo Raspatelli (LH / TM) fought well to move up to 17th position. The race was still very agitated with many incidents on the track.
Prefinal-B proved quieter than the previous one. Dan Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) was the leader, followed at some distance by Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB). Positions changed little behind them, Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex) finished third and the fastest of the race was Logan Sargeant (Tony Kart / Vortex). Mick Betsch (Tony Kart / Vortex) was given a 3” penalty, but nonetheless secured his 5th place. Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex), although starting well fell to 9th ?in front of Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex). There was a good recovery from Devlin DeFrancesco (CRG / BMB), who qualified 11th, and a successful qualification for Bryan Elpitiya (Zanardi / Parilla) in 13th. Arthur Lehouck (Lenzo / LKE) was about to get into the final when he was bumped by a competitor which plunged him to 24th position, causing legitimate anger.
