In all the first four meetings of 2013, since his debut in KF, Dorian Boccolacci has always battled for victory. Though the last phases of the Winter Cup were not totally satisfactory, the driver from Lotus F1 Junior Team climbed onto the podium in the other 3 competitions. He also took his revenge on the circuit of Lonato by adding his name to the list of winners of the prestigious Margutti Trophy.
Despite a second fastest time in timed qualifying and his extraordinary domination in the heats, he had to put in his best effort to win. First of all, the pre-final was “halved” because the “slow” procedure slowed down the pack and prevented overtaking. At re-start, Dorian was caught and then passed by Luca Corberi, who then stopped him from winning on the last lap.
During the final, Boccolacci fought lap after lap to close his gap on the leader and snatched back hundredths of second at each braking while trying to find the best trajectory. Back to the attack on the last lap, this time he did not allow his rival to resist and crossed the finish line as the winner. The excellent relationship between the Energy Corse team, the TM company and the engine preparer GFR has offered Dorian the opportunity to express his talent at best at each competition and is getting him ready to move up the standings in this discipline.
