213 drivers from 26 countries have committed to the first round of the WSK Euro Series in 2013 at Muro Leccese. A slightly lower total than in recent years, as usual in karting recently, Juniors and KZ are now fewer and as always KF and 60 Mini are very dynamic despite restrictive regulations for non-Italians in 60 Mini.

In 60 Mini there are 33 drivers competing, some with names already well-known in other circumstances, not always related to karting: Colombo, Coluccio, Bogdanov, Muller, Ptacek, Lappalainen, Lenzo, … and some front runners like Eliseo Martinez, Kush Maini, Massimo Chinelli and Alberto Negro.

The new stars in KFJ are Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) who is very dominant, Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla) and the fast and consistent Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex), the amazing Max Defourny (Kosmic / TM), Dan Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM), Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB), Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex), …

The KF drivers will benefit from Verstappen’s absence, who is registered in KZ1. The Kosmic drivers Armand Convers and Nicklas Nielsen have a strong claim against Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM). The Croatian Martin Kodric (FA Kart / Vortex) continues to impress. Felice Tiene (CRG / Parilla) will finally mingle with the debutants for the first time this year. Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) may well return to the forefront. The Birel drivers George Russell and Sébastien Bailly may well also be closer to the front. We are waiting to see the performance from Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / TM) after a beautiful Winter Cup and that of Paul Boutonnet driving a factory Kosmic / Vortex.

The sensational KZ1 category is full of experienced talent. Michael Schumacher (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) will be on track at La Conca this year. Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) may yet give a hard time to the likes of Paolo De Conto and Kozlinski (Birel / TM), Ben Hanley and Charles Leclerc (ART GP / TM), Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex), Davide Fore and Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Maxter), Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena), Patrik Kajek and Libor Toman (Praga / Parilla) although the Dutch driver Lammers is absent

Finally, there are a lot of good drivers in KZ2: Simas Juodvirsis and Joel Johansson (Energy / TM), Riccardo Negro (DR / TM), Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) and Maxime Roy with Team AVG on a Birel / TM.
