Except perhaps the European and World CIK-FIA races, the Winter Cup boasts the largest grid of KF of the year. Certainly, as well as being famous, the Italian event is special, on the older South Garda Karting circuit whose development to the standards of the 21st century is constantly postponed until better days. Its proximity to the main kart factories makes it a training ground that is recognized worldwide. However, a winner of the Winter Cup rarely becomes World Champion that year …

This apart, the entry list for the 18th event brings together the cream of the KF class which now unifies KF1 and KF2. We have already seen some competitors two weeks back at La Conca, but the drivers at Lonato proves much more complete, if only by the presence of Max Verstappen. Sébastien Bailly is racing under the banner of the Birel Motorsport factory, and only the CRG drivers Felice Tiene and Jordon Lennox-Lamb are missing so so that class is full.

France has 13 representatives, the second highest behind Italy (14 competitors). Dorian Boccolacci (Energy), Armand Convers (Kosmic), Valentin Moineault (ART GP) and Paul Boutonnet (Zanardi), were already at La Conca for the WSK Master Series, and there is also Nicolas Gonzales, Erwan Julé, Victor Compere, Paolo Besancenez, Ingrid Girard, Luca Midali, Alexander Gadois, Corentin Collignon and Dorian Guldenfels at Lonato.
