KFJ Final: Lorandi wins an eventful race

Although the KFJ final was hectic, it was not about winning, Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) led from from turn 1 to to the finish at La Conca. His first challenger was initially a surprise, the Canadian Parker Thompson (Energy / TM) who started here in KFJ after an early career in Rotax. Second place was then challenged by Max Defourny (Kosmic / TM), who drove the best race of his young career. Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) then settled in second place after two laps. Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) eventually forced his way passed Defourny on the last lap to take the third position, pushing the young Belgian down to 9th. But the maneuver caused the British driver to be sanctioned by the race director who gave him an 8” penalty, putting Defourny back up in the standings.

Thompson took advantage of his third return for upheavals and sign as a beautiful podium in his first race in the category, while the young German Mick Betsch (Tony Kart / Vortex) was convincing and was fourth in front of the Thai Sasak Chaimongkol (ART GP / TM). For  the French, the conclusion was not a happy one as Arthur Lehouck (Lenzo / LKE) who broke his chain before the start and Julien Darras was forced to retire before mid-race. Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB), who was one of the favorites, was ousted at the first corner during a clash.
