RMCGF 2012: leaders in the Prefinal drop out, Golding wins

The Portuguese driver Bruno Borlido and the British Josh White started on the front row of the Junior Prefinal at Portimao. The unfortunate Borlido didn’t finish the first lap and then the leaders were James Golding and Marino Sato. The Japanese driver took control from the 3rd lap, but soon dropped to 20th position. Golding took the place ahead of Kazuto Kotaka and Samu Kylmälä. Also on the front row, White was back in 8th position on the first lap. Harry Webb, fifth on the grid, lost a lot at the beginning, and was at the back of the pack in 25th position. The battle was intense between the top 2, Golding and Kylmälä, Kotaka was now well behind. The Dutchman Stefano Van Galen attacked Kotaka who was defending himself. But Ross Gunn, a British driver, took third place by a hair, while Golding won the race ahead of Kylmälä. Kotaka finished 4th, Janneau Esmeijer 5th and Van Galen 6th.
