Before the start of the first qualifying session on Saturday morning, the Macau circuit underwent a final inspection on Friday afternoon from Michel Waltisperger, the race director, and Horst Seidel, president of the College of Sporting Commissioners. The brand new tarmac will not cause problems like those encountered in 2009. CIK Officials have focused on safety protection, the curbs and grates that direct flow of water along the track in anticipation of the rainstorms which are quite common in the region. The results are very positive and all should go well this weekend, thanks to a new surface that is a bit bumpy.
