“Riccardo Negro’s performances have been excellent at Castelletto” Danilo Rossi commented after the race. “He has measured himself against the best drivers in KZ1, such as the recent winner of the World Cup, and he has never far from them. It has been a great satisfaction for the team. And then it was him who climbed onto the top step of the podium: a win is still a win!“
At the start of the WSK Final Cup, there were indeed some drivers who compete regularly in KZ1, some top seeds, including a few penalised for early starts. Riccardo felt immediately at ease and found himself in an even more flattering position. It was no accident if he led the provisional classification after the heats and added his name to the Cup list of winners. He was able to overcome his usual rivals and to battle with the best representatives of the higher category, confirming the value of the DR Racing chassis.
The icing on the cake during this good Lombard weekend for the DR Racing team came from Moreno Di Silvestre’s honourable debut in 125 gearbox as well as from a very interesting second participation by the Romanian David Dugaesescu. These two new entries still lack racing experience, but their performances in these first battles are very promising.
