Sitnikov: a imperial Saturday in KF3

With 4 wins out of 4 rounds, Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB) did a good job during the qualifying heats of the WSK Final Cup in Castelletto. The British driver Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) had took part in a beautiful duel against Sitnikov in their only race together, but in vain. That said, he finished second in the intermediate classification with a few fastest laps. Both drivers will start in pole position in their respective pre-finals, the A and B on Sunday morning.

In terms of pure performance, only the Italian Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) has shown consistent potential to worry the two leaders. Finland’s Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex) is fourth, but not as fast, followed by the American Dalton Sargeant (Tony Kart / Vortex). As well, the Russian Gregory Antonov (CRG / Parilla) made a spectacular comeback from 26th in Qualifying to 6th position. At the same time, the Danish Slavko Ivanovic (Tony Kart / Vortex), who was on the podium at the World Cup, recovered from 33rd to 10th place.

For now, Dorian Boccolacci can’t do much more to reach the leading men, driving an ART GP / Parilla which are uncommon I  KF3. 30th against the clock, 21st in the intermediate, the French driver laments being so far back … The beginning of the meeting was complicated for Julien Darras (Tony Kart / Parilla) who had problems on track and will definitely do well on Sunday to reach the final.
