Fiault wins from the quartet in KZ2

Christophe Benoit (Birel / TM) had the best start in the KZ2 final, but Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) had not done more than a lap to take the lead in a surreal race. Amos Mechoulam (DR / TM) returned to the pits following a carburation problem. Nolan Mantione (Birel / TM) was then behind Benoit, handicapped by having tires which had done all the Prefinal, before passing into the fast right after the start.

On the sixth of 21 laps, the positions were frozen until the finish applauded by the spectators present at Essay. Victory and fastest lap went to Fiault before he had to catch his plane, with Audi, to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, second was Mantione whose times remained very close to those of the leader. 3rd was Benoit, dissatisfied with the lack of sportsmanship from his opponents and had struggled with tyre problems and was fourth François Santoni (PCR / TM), in a similar situation.
