Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) made the best start and stayed 1st into the parabolic, immediately going a few lengths ahead of Kozlinski (PCR / TM) and Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex). Bas Lammers (Praga / Parilla) was immediately threatening in fourth position ahead of Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM), Patrik Hajek (Praga / Parilla), Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex), Alessandro Giulietti (Praga / TM) and Paolo De Conto (Birel / BMB).

Lammers passed Convers at the bottom end of the second lap and the attacked the second placed Kozlinski. Despite numerous attempts, the Dutch driver was not be able to overcome the French, firmly clinging to his second place. However, Lammers was the fastest on the track. Hanley finished victorious with nearly a second lead over Kozlinski, trailed until the last lap by Lammers. Convers was 4th in front of Hajek and De Conto, who recovered to sixth and set the second fastest time. Dreezen was 7th, Giulietti 8th, Federer 9th and De Brabander 10th.

Eight drivers didn’t reach the finish. Abbasse lost a wheel, Fore broke his clutch, Thonon was a victim of overheating due to a loose hose. Will those who retired early in the race will enjoy the benefit of newer tyres during the final 18 laps to come? It is a mystery…
