New Zealander Daniel Bray, the surprising leader in KZ2

Virtually unknown in Europe, the 25 year old New Zealand with years of experience also has seven seasons experience in shifter karts. He is also one of the best drivers in KZ2 in his country who has also driven in the United States, ranking third in his class for example in S1 in Las Vegas in 2011. Driving his GP Racing / TM, at Sarno he won 4 of his 5 heats while ensuring 5th place in the other to be in heart the fight in the final. His performance and consistency are obvious and he will start on pole in the prefinal on Sunday.

With two wins and good places in the top 5, the British Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Maxter) is in second place in the standings ahead of the poleman, from the Swedish PDB team, Viktor Öberg (Gillard / TM). Even without much experience in KZ, the Italian Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) took 4th place with 3 wins and a problem at the start of his first race (the motor stalled on the grid, he started 31st, recovered to 9th). Consistent and quick, the Czech driver Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) is 5th in front of Simone Brenna (TB Kart / TM) and Mirko Torsellini (Tony Kart / Vortex) who was sometimes delayed at the starts.

Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) was very fast, attacking at the front in his debut in KZ2. Sometimes hesitant at first, he managed to win 4 times in his heats, but had a retirement with a clutch problem which dropped him to 10th position when could have won. After setting only the 42nd lap in qualifying, Simas Juodvirsis (Energy / TM) has moved up to start the race in 12th position. Combative despite a kart still needing refinement, Alexandre Arrue (Righetti / TM) is 25th, the first and only French driver qualified…
