CRG Ends in Beauty at PFI

As soon as CRG drivers had familiarised themselves with the new British circuit of PF International and its difficulties, they moved to the attack to conclude the last round of the European KF Championships on a high note: a victory in the second KF2 race for Felice Tiene and the title of KF3 Vice Champion for Alex Palou, in addition to the meeting record in this class. CRG chassis powered by BMB engines prepared by KVS were definitely very brilliant on the international scene in Lincolnshire.

However, there were quite a few obstacles to overcome… Tiene and Palou experienced strangely similar situations, given that both did not feel much comfortable in the rain during timed qualifying, both went through a heat more difficult than the others, and then both moved closer to the top of the standings in the provisional classification thanks to their very convincing performances in the other races. Tiene stamped his authority by climbing up as many as 10 places in Race 1 and kept the momentum going by standing head and shoulders above his rivals in KF2 with a most impressive victory in Race 2.

Race 1 allowed the Spaniard Palou to climb up to 6th, with the best absolute time of the weekend in KF3. Alex was hampered at the start of Race 2, but pushed hard to gain some more positions, from 15th to 6th place, and conquered the second place in the final classification of the European Championship.

Tom Joyner, behind the wheel of his LH/BMB, demonstrated once again his high level of performance during the qualifying phases and was very often in the KF2 top 5. Tom was delayed at the start of Race 1 but quickly got back to 9th, though he was forced to withdraw in the second race
