Verstappen wins race 1…

The KF2s took to the track under the weather of Lincolnshire for their first race which was expected to be thrilling. Dennis Olsen (Energy / TM) retained the lead ahead of his teammate Sam Snell, Paolo Ippolito (Kosmic / Vortex), Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) and … Max Verstappen (Intrepid / TM) who adopted a dazzling pace. Charles Leclerc (ART GP / Parilla) was seventh, Ben Barnicoat (ART GP / Parilla) eighth, Anthoine Hubert (Formula K / TM) 12th. Camponeschi retired, Verstappen went fourth ahead of Andreas Hansen (Maranello / Maranello) and Antonio Fuoco (Tony Kart / Vortex).

The situation was evolving behind the Energy leaders: Verstappen has overtaken Ippolito and set the fastest lap on the sixth lap, which meant he was getting closer. Leclerc dropped to 10th in a fight, Barnicoat returned to seventh followed by Felice Tiene (CRG / BMB) and Damiano Fioravanti (Tony Kart / Vortex). Olsen stopped, with the chain off on a rumble strip on lap 7 … What a disappointment. Snell was closely followed by Verstappen who soon took the lead. In third place, followed by Barnicoat Fuoco was on full attack, Tiene was 5th, Niklas Tiihonen (Energy / TM) 6th, Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) seventh. Leclerc retired after a collision, while he was struggling to keep pace.

The difference was not huge between the leader, Verstappen, and his pursuers. Fuoco threatened Snell quickly under pressure from Barnicoat. But Snell hit the gas and was attacking Barnicoat and Fuoco for 3rd place. Verstappen made sure to get out of reach without trying to pull out a huge difference. Verstappen won the race from Snell, third was Barnicoat, 4th Fuoco, 5th Tiene. Valentin Moineault (Tony Kart / Vortex), was 13th and the best French driver, Anthoine Hubert (Formula K / TM) was 15th with a machine lacking pizzazz, Victor Compere (Kosmic / Vortex) was 19th after starting 32nd and Paul Boutonnet (Tony Kart / Parilla ) 27th.
