Bailly takes the lead in the final

The sky was again overcast at Ostricourt, but the rain still held off. Sébastien Bailly (Swiss Hutless / TM) led a hard fought first lap in the KF2 final. Paul Boutonnet (Tony Kart / Parilla) lost out a lot by being held up at the start, then lost several positions before the first braking at the hairpin. Victor Compere (Kosmic / Vortex) grabbed second place ahead of Remy Deguffroy (Tony Kart / Vortex), Guillaume De Ridder (Kosmic / Vortex) and Nicolas Gonzales (DR / Vortex). Valentin Moineault (Tony Kart / Vortex) also returned to the front, he was 6th from lap 4.

Bailly was in front Deguffroy, second, and Compere, third. Now in fourth position, Moineault set the fastest lap, ahead of De Ridder and Gonzales, then Kenny Marquez (Kosmic / Vortex) and Pascal Belmaaziz (DR / Vortex). Gonzales attacked De Ridder who retaliated, while his new teammate joined Belmaaziz and passed under braking at the hairpin. Paul Boutonnet continued to rise, he was ninth in the heart of an agitated platoon. He passed Hubert Petit (Sodi / Parilla) and closed on Gonzales. A few lengths behind the leader, Sébastien Bailly, Deguffroy, Compere and Moineault came together. Petit spun onto the wet grass, understandably upset as he got out of the kart.

Boutonnet had a mechanical failure and retired with two laps to go when he had just passed De Ridder to gain 6th place. He set the fastest lap. Moineault closed up to Compere, in third, but couldn’t find the opening before the line. It was a flawless victory for Sebastien Bailly from Remy Deguffroy and Victor Compere. Belmaaziz finished fifth ahead of De Ridder, Lefort and Gonzales.
