Aubry masters the prefinal

It was an unprecedented front row, under the sun for the KF3 Prefinal: Gautier Becq (Sodi / Parilla) and Gabi Aubry (Birel / TM), followed by Julien Darras (Tony Kart / Parilla) and Bastien Leguay (ART GP / Parilla ). Aubry first attacked Becq under braking and took the lead, with Valentin Naud (Kosmic / Parilla) third, Darras fourth, Arthur Lehouck (Sodi / Parilla) fifth, Bryan Elpitiya (Zanardi / Parilla) sixth. Aubry celebrated in the lead, 3” faster than his opponents. The race was red flagged after 2 laps: the # 40 kart cartwheeled on the 1st lap and its driver, Anthony Lambert, needed to be evacuated.

The race resumed after the KF2, with 14 laps to go on a totally dry track this time. Aubry took the lead again, but the fight behind him was animated. Glad to be able to swap his wets for slicks after the break, Arthur Lehouck (Sodi / Parilla) took second place ahead of Darras, Alexander Guiod (Merlin / Parilla) and Olivier Palmaers (LH / Vortex). Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) was strong in fifth place, followed by Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / Parilla).

Ilott dropped to 17th position. Aubry took the lead by 2” from Lehouck and Darras, setting the fastest time. Besancenez climbed into fourth position. Francois Bécamel (Kosmic / Parilla) was in 5th place ahead of Paul Guiod and Dorian Guldenfels (Sodi / Parilla). At the end, Darras was considerably closer to second, Lehouck, Guldenfels climbed to sixth from Becq and Nikita Mazepin (Zanardi / Parilla). Aubry won a race he dominated from start to finish. Lehouck was second, Darras 3rd, Besancenez 4th, ahead by far of Bécamel in 5th.
