Praga Deserved Victory at La Conca!

Given Bas Lammers’ performances during the third round of the WSK Euro Series at La Conca, victory in Final 2 was largely deserved. The Dutch driver, who was the undisputed leader of Saturday’s qualifying behind the wheel of his Praga/Parilla KZ1, was forced to withdraw after the first few laps of Final 1, just when he was fighting for the first place. On Sunday, Lammers crossed the finish line of Final 2 as the winner, but was excluded from the race together with two of the most titled drivers of the competition for an overtaking manoeuvre under a yellow flag that was hardly visible. Patrik Hajek (Praga/Parilla) confirmed the Praga Kart Racing Team top level of performance with his 4th fastest time in timed qualifying and a stunning recovery drive from 21st to 8th in Final 2, after encountering technical problems in all his heats. Championship positions – with Lammers in 5th place and Hajek in 10th – are far from reflecting the real value of Praga boys on the track.

Though less at ease with the high grip of an overheated track at La Conca, Martin Doubek (Praga/TM) achieved some good performances and entered the top 10 in KZ2. As for Karol Dabski (Praga/Parilla), who was very convincing in KF2 with his 4th time in timed qualifying and some very good results in the heats, he concluded with a 10th place in the pre-final and a 12th in the final, where he faced the best drivers in the world. In the meanwhile the British driver Jack Barlow, who previously competed in Rotax Junior, showed an impressive progression in KF2 from timed qualifying (49th time) to the final race (25th) on his first race with Praga.
