The first race started at the World KF1 Championship at Suzuka with the qualifying heat for B / C. Pedro Hiltbrand (FA Kart / Vortex) immediately took the lead, despite an attempt at intimidation on the part of Max Verstappen (Intrepid / TM) at the first corner, the righthander after the start. Tom Joyner (LH / BMB), attacked Verstappen for third. In fourth, Anthoine Hubert (Formula K / TM) made a good start, while his teammate Yannick De Brabander left the track at the double left at the bottom of the circuit. Kozlinski (PCR / TM) moved up to fifth ahead of Davide Fore (CRG / BMB).

Verstappen retired after a mechanical problem on lap 5. Karol Basz (Birel / BMB) made a great recovery by passing successively Fore, Koko and Hubert. The Pole also posted the best lap with 47” 794, 2/10 faster than the leader. Hiltbrand consolidated his first position with a comfortable lead over Joyner and Basz in third. Hubert ended up in a solid fourth place ahead of Kozlinski and Fore. Then it was Tereza Gromanova (Kosmic / Vortex) in 7th position after a nice recovery at the end of the race, while being credited with the second fastest time. De Brabander finished 13th after some spectacular overtaking despite a slight deficit in raw performance.
