The KF2 prefinal start was given after a short pause with a red flag. That was not enough: Max Verstappen and Tom Joyner went off into the barriers at the end of the straight. Max restarted at the back, then returned to the pits.

Antonio Fuoco (Tony Kart / Vortex) was leading the race with Ben Barnicoat (ART GP / Parilla) in its wheeltracks, then Antonio Giovinazzi (Tony Kart / TM) and Charles Leclerc (ART GP / Parilla) not far behind. Damiano Fioravanti was fifth, Sami Luka sixth, Felice Tiene 7th. On lap 7, Fuoco stopped with a mechanical problem. Barnicoat moved ahead, but Leclerc soon took the lead. With Giovinazzi included, this was a very tight top three with Tiene looking at it longingly from 1.5” behind. In fifth position was Luka ahead of Matthew Graham, Sam Snell, Niclas Nylund and Christian Sorensen.

Barnicoat never let Leclerc escape by more than a tenth as if to show that he was determined to find a way to victory. Graham passed Luka for fifth. Leclerc made sure he didn’t miss his braking or apexes to counter the threat from Barnicoat. Tiene closed up to Giovinazzi, but failed to take third.

Leclerc won ahead of his teammate Barnicoat, with Giovinazzi third, Tiene fourth, Graham 5th.
