Alex Palou (CRG / BMB), the pole man, started perfectly on the wet track of Sarno for the first of the two prefinals in KF3. The rain, however, lessened, but the spray raised by the karts was impressive. Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) managed to retain the advantage over Lance Stroll (Zanardi / Parilla). George Russell (Intrepid / Vortex) yielded fourth to Luca Corberi (Kosmic / Vortex) followed by Marijn Kremers (PCR / Parilla). Sam Oram Jones (Intrepid / TM) took sixth position ahead of Russell. Palou got away in the lead, and was fastest. Starting on the second row, Connor Jupp (Energy / Vortex) dropped below the qualifying limit in 18th place.

At the halfway point Oram Jones and Corberi in fifth passed Stroll to take third; Palou was 5/10 faster than his pursuers. The Spaniard won the race with an almost 8” lead over Ilott, followed by Corberi, Stroll, Oram Jones and Russell. Kodric qualified in 11th position, and also Jupp and Cunati in 15th and 16th.

Dorian Boccolacci (Intrepid / TM) made a superb start in Prefinal B to lead ahead of Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB), followed by Dan Ticktum (Zanardi / Parilla) and Valentin Naud (Formula K / Vortex ). Dalton Sargeant (Tony Kart / Vortex) had spun on the first lap. Ticktum attacked Sitnikov, a duel that carried on and threatened the leader.

In the sixth of 12 laps, Sitnikov managed to get rid of Ticktum and attack Boccolacci. Naud was now threatening Ticktum and Boccolaci before losing second in favor of the British driver. Naud then took third position, Slavko Ivanovic (RK / Vortex) advanced to fifth and Sargeant was recovering strongly. Leonardo Tano (CRG / Parilla) was one to watch in seventh. Sitnikov was a strong leader and well ahead of Ticktum and Naud. Sargeant was now up to 4th, Boccolacci fell to 12th.
