On a track he was already familiar with, Felix Nilsson could not give the best of himself during the second round of the WSK Master Series, held at Sarno.
His Energy/TM was not as fast as in previous meetings on the long Neapolitan circuit, and Felix was unable to do better than a 15th time in timed qualifying. He was eliminated after the very first meters in his second heat and delayed in the fourth: the start phases turned out to be more complicated than usual now that speed controls have been removed.
16th on the grid of the pre-final, which was fundamental for qualification, Felix fought to keep his position until the finish line, but could not improve his rank. He made an excellent start in the final, but quickly lost the lead he had gained. Despite all his efforts, he got stuck in the pack and concluded with a modest 28th place.
“Results in Sarno were rather disappointing” he explained. “Our performances were not good enough to keep the pace of the lead group and avoid being left behind on a circuit that long. We need to resolve this problem before the first round of the WSK Euro Series, in a month’s time. But before that I will be at the last Master meeting at Castelletto, with a strong desire for revenge“.
