e made his debut in the 125cc gearbox class at the end of last season, at Ortona, for the WSK Final Cup. Now, at the start of this 2012, he has proved to be a fast and self-confident driver behind the wheel of his CRG/Maxter KZ2 kart at the WSK Master Series opening round, on the circuit of La Conca. Jordon Lennox-Lamb was extraordinary, despite a weekend full of obstacles. On Saturday, a chain problem forced him to withdraw from the second heat; he then climbed up from 12th to 2nd place in Final 1, setting the fastest lap time during the race, but lost his place after a 10-second penalty that was also inflicted to several other competitors during the start procedure.

The following day, Lennox set a series of fastest lap times and did not let anyone get in the way during his triumphant march to victory in Final 2. “I am very happy with my kart”, said the British driver. “I was always able to fight among the front runners in KZ2, with very good times too, and in the end I prevailed. I already thought that CRG kart level of performance was convincing, but the engine Maxter prepared for me in-house also proved to be very powerful… too powerful for my adversaries!”

In the higher class, KZ1, CRG drivers did a lot of development work during all the Muro Leccese meeting. Jorrit Pex (CRG/TM) took the lead already during Friday’s timed qualifying by conquering pole position, and then remained at the top of the classification on Saturday thanks to his second place in Final 1.

Mirko Torsellini (CRG/Maxter), 3rd in Final 2 and 4th in the overall championship classification, then achieved the best result of a team whose performance level improved continuously. Evidence of that was provided by Jonathan Thonon’s brilliant catch-up race, during which he regained 10 places, finished 5th – closely followed by Davide Forè – and posted a stunning fastest lap time in the final part of the race.
