Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) could not keep his KZ2 in first place for long in the final of the Winter Cup. Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) was quickly shown to be the the most incisive. A 10” penalty was imposed straight away for Thonon’s start. Behind Mirko Torsellini (CRG / Maxter) was a fight between Kozlinski (PCR / TM) and Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) until Dreezen decided it. The Belgian driver then continued his triumphant march, relentlessly passing successively Torsellini, Thonon and Hanley, the latter to retire a few laps later with an engine failure. In the final race, the French stepped up the pace for the podium, Kozlinski with a beautiful second place at his new team and Abbasse demonstrating the potential of his Sodi 2012. Torsellini finished fourth, but Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) made a remarkable recovery from 31st to 5th place with the fastest race lap.
