In the Emirate of Dubai, the World Rotax Final started at the 1400m track of Al Ain. On the track, fights were pervasive at all levels. In the heats, small groups were formed continuously with drivers who have come from more than 60 countries.
The very small differences between the competitors on a track of this length are evidence that the new engines distributed by lot by Rotax are all close to each other. “It depend on the details,” said a lead driver. “We will have to use the different setup options to try to make a difference. It will be very difficult as the Mojos seem very consistent.”
In all classes, the driver in 20th is lapping at less than two-tenths off the time of the leaders! An intense final phase is promised.
