It was a lively race 2 for the protagonists in the KF1 World Championship in Suzuka, perhaps even a major turning point of the season. Karol Basz (RK / BMB) dominated the lead from start to finish to win his second race of the day.

Libor Toman (Birel / BMB), ninth on the grid, was a surprising second early in the race from Kiyoto Fujinami (LH / Maxter), who started 12th, which was due to Alex Albon (Intrepid / TM), hitting the wall trying to attack Basz. Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) lost places in the scrum and was 11th.

While Toman and Fujinami were down the ranking, Basz escaped more easily because of the brawl in the chasing group. Albon took second from Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex), but De Vries restarted his attack and quickly took it back. Japanese driver Yu Kanamaru (Tony Kart / Vortex) was also very fast in the wake of the Dutch driver. Camponeschi not resist the double attack, but took advantage of a confused lap 13. De Vries and Kanamaru attacked Albon, losing more ground than necessary and seeming nervous. There was a duel between De Vries and Camponeschi for 2 corners, allowing Kanamaru a breather before De Vries got close.

He would do it on the last lap, but retained his second place from Kanamaru by 0.041 sec. on the line. Albon recovered two positions to finish sixth, but De Vries has clearly gained the upper hand on the podium with Basz who was happy and Kanamaru, not unhappy. Camponeschi finished 4th, 5th D’Agosto and Albon 6th. In the Championship, De Vries slightly increases his lead (22 points) from second placed Albon who is even threatened by Camponeschi (10 points).
