Ocon wins the Prefinal in confusion

The KF3 pre-final was very lively. Jeremy Demarque maintained his position at the start, before Esteban Ocon surprised him even before the end of the first lap. Valentin Naud was on the pace, but Gabriel Aubry was soon to move up a gear. He then overtook Naud and Demarque and closed on Ocon. “Gabi” piled on the pressure and found an opening. But Ocon recrossed, they touched, and Aubry went onto the grass and fell to third position behind Ocon and Demarque.

Behind that Dorian Boccolacci was not fastest, unlike Etienne Mordret. It was believed that the positions are frozen, but Demarque had the bad idea to lift off the throttle just before the line to shift down into third position. Surprised, Aubry braked in turn, while Naud hit him! Demarque was given three penalty points. Ocon then won the pre-final ahead if Aubry, Naud, Mordret and Demarque.
