Sprint victory for Belmaaziz in KF2

It was a race of rare intensity in KF2. After a dramatic clash between Alexander Pastor (leg injury) and Belgian Thierry Fievez, a second start was given. Anthoine Hubert (Sodi-Parilla) took the first corner without incident with Pascal Belmaaziz (DR-Parilla) and Victor Sendin (Tony-Vortex) in his tracks.

After a few laps, Sendin seemed to have some difficulties (tire wear?) while running with Hubert 2-3 tenths ahead of Belmaaziz. In the peloton, the Belgian Guillaume De Ridder (Kosmic-Vortex) made a strong impression, and was certainly the fastest on the track. He overtook the regular Denis DuPont (Tony-Vortex) and gained on the leaders.

With three laps to go, Belmaaziz had to give way, but did not resist, preferring to take points in the Championship while Sendin fell from lap to lap. On the last lap, De Ridder was close to the leader Hubert, and finally found the opening about 500 meters from the finish. Hubert defended, but went off in the grass.

Belmaaziz then saw the opportunity. With better speed out of the corners, he managed to slip inside on the elevated circuit of Essay. De Ridder was defeated! What a race and what a finale! Belmaaziz could exult on the top of the podium and De Ridder was a beautiful second after his brilliant performance. He was also very fast throughout the race after his start in last place, Remy Deguffroy got the better of DuPont to complete an unexpected podium. Also starting on the last row, John Filippi (Exprit-Vortex) recovered to a fifth in a group composed of Gilson, Roussel, Hubert (the loser), Sendin and Heron.
